we are hiring for poultry processing in 2025

Thank you for your interest in working for us! All of our farm hand positions are already filled by returning employees. We are hiring for Poultry Processing Help on Mondays (and some Fridays) from the end of June - the end of October. Hours are Mondays from 8-4 or 5 on the farm in Livingston and 1-2 Fridays per month. Tasks include processing chickens and ducks before lunch (may include running the Calder and plucker or learning to eviscerate. You may not have the ability to work all stations equally. Sometimes we need to put certain people at certain stations to be most efficient) and packaging poultry after lunch. Packaging may include bagging, running the vacuum sealer, running items to the freezer, organizing the freezer, and labeling. This is fast paced work that requires you to stay on task and organized! You need to work as part of a team to accomplish the goal. At the end of the day, this is a very rewarding task as the work and outcome are very tangible: you are putting food from the pasture into people’s homes! This is a chance to work with the whole Black Dog Farm team 1-2x a week. We provide a team lunch on Mondays and we all really enjoy processing days. Some days might be packaging only while one of our skilled butchers pieces/cuts up chickens.

For the right applicant, we may also have work on our sales side. This would involve inventory, packing orders, doing deliveries in Bozeman and Livingston, making dog treats, packing and delivering wholesale orders, packing for farmers market, and potentially running the farmers market. A schedule could be discussed.
